BECOMING A MASON

The process to becoming a Mason is simple but can take some time. If you already know a mason, talk to them first. They can walk you through the process. If you don’t already know a mason, the first step is to sit down with us before one of our stated meetings. When you are interested in joining Freemasonry, taking that initial step can be daunting but don't worry! We love to have guests and this is a great opportunity to meet everybody.

Once you get to know us and we get to know you, a petition will need to be filled out and submitted. The petition requires that two members of Ingleside Lodge #1361 sign and three masons from other lodges sign. Don’t worry if you don’t know any other masons. We will point you in the right direction.

After the petition is turned in, an investigation will be performed. Three members of the lodge will schedule a time to visit with you and your family. This is an incredibly crucial step in the whole process. We want to make sure you are the right fit for the lodge and, just as importantly, we want to make sure we are a good fit for you.

Once the investigation is completed, members of the lodge will vote on your petition at the next stated meeting. Afterwards, somebody should contact you with the results and provide you with additional instructions.
